Owyhee 1P Pro Dyneema Tent is an ultralight, four-season shelter designed for solo backcountry travel. At only 8.7 ounces for the shelter, it combines Dyneema CT2E.08 fabric, a spacious floorless layout, a single trekking-pole pitch and reinforced storm-ready geometry for hunters, backpackers and mountain travelers who want to reduce pack weight without giving up useful interior room.
Why Choose the Owyhee 1P Pro Dyneema Tent?
The Owyhee 1P Pro Dyneema Tent is built for trips where every ounce matters. The shelter weighs approximately 8.7 ounces, or about 10.5 ounces with the six included stakes. According to Argali, it is approximately 40% lighter than the standard Owyhee 1P Tent.
Despite its low weight, the shelter provides a 50-inch peak height, a 106-inch length and a 71-inch maximum width. The modified hexagonal footprint provides approximately 39.11 square feet of coverage and is designed to accommodate one person up to 6 feet 3 inches tall, along with backcountry gear.
Roughly two-thirds of the interior can be used as the sleeping area, while the remaining space works as a gear zone or vestibule. This arrangement helps keep a pack, boots and equipment organized without crowding the sleeping area.

7 Key Owyhee 1P Pro Dyneema Tent Features
1. Ultralight Dyneema Construction
The shelter is made from Dyneema CT2E.08 composite fabric. Dyneema composites are known for an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, low water absorption and strong dimensional stability, helping the shelter maintain its shape during wet conditions.
The material allows the shelter body to remain extremely light while still supporting the tension required for a secure backcountry pitch. As with any ultralight material, careful campsite selection and thoughtful handling help extend its service life.
2. Single Trekking-Pole Pitch
The Owyhee 1P Pro Dyneema Tent pitches around one trekking pole placed at the center. This design lets hikers use equipment already carried on the trail rather than adding a traditional tent-pole set.
A compatible dedicated center pole can also be used when you want to keep your trekking pole available for day trips or when establishing a longer base camp.
3. Spacious Solo Interior
With a 50-inch peak height and 106-inch length, the shelter provides room to sit up, change clothing and organize equipment. The long sleeping area is designed for users up to approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall.
The floorless design also allows flexible placement of a sleeping pad and groundsheet. Users can choose a protected sleeping area while keeping wet footwear and gear closer to the entrance.
4. Adjustable Pitch Height
Sewn-in line-loc adjusters are installed at all six lower guy-out points. Pitch the shelter close to the ground to reduce drafts and improve weather protection, or raise the perimeter slightly to encourage more airflow during warmer or humid conditions.
This adjustability helps the shelter adapt to different campsites, seasons and ventilation needs without changing its basic one-pole structure.
5. Reinforced Storm Protection
Steep wall angles help shed precipitation and snow, while reinforced guy-out points provide additional support in exposed terrain. Five extra mid-panel guy-outs are included for adding tension when wind or changing weather requires a stronger pitch.
Use suitable anchors, tighten the shelter evenly and select a protected campsite whenever possible. During severe conditions, inspect the pitch regularly and remove accumulating snow before it places excessive load on the shelter.
6. Optional Double-Wall System
The Owyhee 1P Pro Dyneema Tent can be used as a minimalist floorless shelter or paired with the separately sold Owyhee 1P Dyneema Insert. The insert adds a Dyneema bathtub floor and mesh enclosure for bug protection and greater separation from the ground.
Color-matched attachment points and adjustable quick-connect line-locs are designed to simplify installation. The insert covers approximately two-thirds of the shelter, leaving the remaining section available as a vestibule.
7. Compact Packed Size and Night Visibility
The shelter packs to approximately 4 × 9 inches, making it easy to organize in a backpack. Reflective materials sewn into the tent improve visibility when locating the shelter with a headlamp after dark.
The compact package is especially useful on hunts and backpacking trips where shelter, food, sleep gear and technical equipment must all share limited pack space.

What Is Included?
Each package includes the Owyhee 1P Pro Dyneema Tent, six Argali 7075 aluminum Piton tent stakes and five mini line-loc guy-outs for the additional mid-panel attachment points.
A trekking pole, dedicated center pole, groundsheet and Owyhee 1P Dyneema Insert are not listed as standard package contents and should be purchased separately when needed.
Pitching the Owyhee 1P Pro Dyneema Tent
Select a level campsite that is clear of sharp sticks, rocks and other objects that could damage the shelter or sleeping equipment. Lay out the shelter, establish the six main stake positions and raise the center with a trekking pole adjusted to approximately the required 50-inch peak height.
Walk around the shelter and use the lower line-loc adjusters to create balanced tension. The panels should be smooth and secure without being pulled excessively tight. Add the five mid-panel guy-outs when additional stability or interior clearance is useful.
For draft protection, pitch the lower perimeter closer to the ground. For more ventilation, allow a controlled gap around the base. Even in cold conditions, some airflow is useful for managing moisture created by occupants and damp equipment.
Floorless or Double-Wall Configuration
Use the shelter by itself for the lowest possible packed weight and a flexible floorless camp. A lightweight groundsheet can protect the sleeping area while leaving a separate section open for footwear and equipment.
Add the optional insert when insects, wet ground or a fully enclosed sleeping compartment are a priority. The dedicated insert uses a Dyneema floor and 15D mesh, with a full U-shaped zipper for easier access.

Care and Storage
Shake out dirt and debris after each trip. Wipe localized marks gently with water and a soft cloth, then allow the Owyhee 1P Pro Dyneema Tent to dry completely before packing it for storage.
Avoid machine washing, harsh detergents, bleach, high heat and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Store the dry shelter in a cool place away from sharp tools, chemicals and heavy objects.
Before each trip, inspect the Dyneema panels, bonded areas, zipper, line-locs, guy-outs and stakes. Address small punctures or attachment issues early so they do not become larger problems in the field.
